The Team

We strategically designed the Work-Order team to be robust for its size by building an efficient team to engage in effective relationships with clients by taking only a select number of large scale engagements per year.  This structure allows us to be available as a partner to clients in a role similar to that of an in house team. We involve stakeholders in the process and are transparent with our work.

 
 
 

Keira Alexandra

Creative Director
Keira began her design career in the early 90s at the seminal graphic design firm M&Co., founded by Tibor Kalman, followed by senior designer roles at the design firms Bureau and Number 17. She’s held positions at MTV in the role of art director where she redesigned the entire network multiple times and at Sundance TV in the role of creative director where she built the in house creative services department for marketing, on air and and digital design and helped launch a block of environmental programming called “The Green”.  Keira has taught in the graphic design graduate program at Yale since 1999, is an ongoing thesis advisor at RISD and frequently lectures about design.

Antoine Mauron and Romain Brunet

Designers
Hailing from France, both Antoine and Romain have chosen to start their careers with Work-Order since graduating. Their skill sets include graphic design, type design, coding, animation, 3D modeling and copywriting. They are an integral part of our design team, so much so that they share a worktable with us for maximum collaboration.

Risa Mickenberg

Writer
Risa has created campaigns for Nike, Evian, Oscar, Target, Whole Foods, First Look Media, Kodak and Modern Meadow. She writes for Vice, The Baffler, Purple and HBO and has received a Pushcart Prize for fiction, and was a fellow at the MacDowell Colony and The Corporation of Yaddo. She has authored a best-selling book, written an original screenplay called Egg, which debuted at Tribeca Film Festival this year and received an AIGA/MoMA award for directing. Risa is constantly evolving unusual activist tactics for our times.

Lauren Kosteski

Social Media Strategist
Lauren has 15 years experience as a digital strategist and content producer working with non-conformist, creative thinkers who understand the power of business strategy. Her approach combines digital insights, creativity and MBA-rigor to deliver a brand’s vocal/visual language in the social space. She has worked at Droga5, Arnold, Momentum, GroupM, JWALK and Milk Studios and has been a guest lecturer at the School of Visual Arts, co-teaching a course on Brand/Communication Strategy for their Masters in Branding program.

Allison Park

Project Manager
With deep roots in post production and job tracking and management, Allison is not only efficient, she’s also personable. She has managed top to bottom production for the Comedy Central Rebrand, The New York Times Newfronts, and Target as well as approaching deeply personal projects with the same discipline and passion.

Kiffer Keegan

Creative Director
Kiffer started his career as a key member of the Comedy Central on air design team infusing the role and the department with his unexpected talents used in the most unusual ways all to better the comedic payoff. He first worked with Keira on the Comedy Central rebrand in 2010, which won numerous awards and is still lauded as the first successful mobile first cable rebrand. Kiffer has led design, motion and voice for dozens of rebrands.

Education: Studied cinematography, animation and typography at the School of Visual Arts while simultaneously working a full time job.

Alex Ording

Web Developer
Alex draws from communications and visual design to bring a user-driven approach to web development for such entities as the National Education Association, The Helm, JUST Capital, Peoples Climate March, among others. She has built new products as a software engineer on The New York Times's Beta team and was the deputy director of front-end development for Blue State Digital's DC office, where she worked with the Obama Foundation.

Education: Wellesley College, BA and Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging Arts, Certificates in Graphic and Web Design and Development

Elizabeth Stroud

Brand Strategist
Elizabeth’s strategic marketing experience spans eight years with a focus on brand innovation and digital transformation. She has worked at Anomaly, helping launch Google+ and Google Glass and at Ogilvy, helping spearhead brand platform development and data-driven marketing initiatives for clients such as IBM, American Express, Coca Cola, and Starbucks. Her focus has shifted to primarily help purpose-led companies hone their brands and amplify their engagement; clients include sweetgreen, biofabrication startup Modern Meadow, and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

Education: Southern Methodist University, dual BA in Art and Advertising

Lo Martin

Art Director
Lo has 15 years experience building cross-platform design systems and content infrastructures for startups and media companies such as NowThis, Seeker, Thrillist, The Dodo and Jash. With her insights-driven approach to distributed storytelling, Lo has launched and managed multiple award-winning Snapchat Discover channels as well as dozens of shows across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and O&O. When she’s not busy setting up a design systems or toolkitting, you’ll probably find her running the nearest marathon.

Joel Pickard

Composer & Sound Designer

Joel composes music for films, makes sound for brands and creates live sound installations with real acoustic instruments, analog synthesizers and modern digital audio manipulation. His film scores have premiered at Sundance, San Francisco International Film Festival and River Run among others. His most recent sound installation is at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. In addition, Joel’s Portland charm is second only to his humor and good timing.
